Total time: 40 minutes
Servings: 12 servings.
What you’ll need
1-pound breakfast sausage, hot
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
3 to 4 cups whole milk, more to taste
½ teaspoon seasoned salt
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper, more to taste
12 cooked biscuits, warmed, for serving
How to make it
Step 1:
Use your fingers to tear small pieces of sausage and add them in a single layer in a skillet.
Step 2:
Allow the sausage to turn brown over medium-high heat until they are no longer pink. Reduce the heat to low-medium and sprinkle half the flour over the sausage. Stir in a way that the flour is all soaked, and then add more gradually. Stir and leave it to cook for another minute before pouring milk, then stir after.
Step 3:
Allow the gravy to cook, and stir constantly for about 10 to 12 minutes until it thickens. Then sprinkle the seasoned salt and pepper, and continue to cook until it gets very thick.
Step 4:
Use a spoon to put the sausage gravy on the warm biscuits and serve immediately.
