GOOD OLD FASHIONED MAC AND CHEESE

A classic delicious meal, the mac and cheese recipe is an all-time favorite meal for kids and even adults.

Look, you can almost do no wrong with mac n cheese. The kids love it, the adults love it, the grannies love it. Everybody loves it. This famous classic meal is super delicious and super easy to make and is the ultimate comfort food to put you in the right mood.

There’s just no way you can go wrong with mac n cheese. It’s one of the simplest recipes to prepare, making it perfect for when you have to make a quick impromptu dinner. But perhaps my favorite thing about mac n  cheese dinner is that you’ll never hear any complaints. It’s always a hit with the kids no matter how fast you prepared it. You can always tweak this recipe in whatever way you like – mac, beef and cheese, seafood mac n cheese. It’s delicious either way. But sometimes, you jut want to enjoy your meal in the most traditional form and ta-da! You have this old fashioned mac n cheese which I must confess, is the bet I’ve ever prepared.

Ingredients

2 cups elbow macaroni

4 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups milk

¼ onion, minced

Salt and pepper, to taste

¼ pound processed cheese food

¼ pound cheddar cheese, shredded

¼ pound Swiss cheese, shredded

Directions

Step 1: Prepare the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions

Step 2: While the macaroni cooks, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. After that, slowly add the flour and stir until a cream coloured paste forms, then pour in the milk and continue stirring until it becomes thick, and then stir for an extra minute. Take the mix off the heat and set aside

Step 3: Spread ½ portion of the cooked macaroni into the bottom of a lightly greased large baking dish, then layer half of the grated onion, half of the salt and pepper and ½ of cheddar cheese and Swiss cheese each. Place a second layer of macaroni and layer the onion, salt and pepper and cheeses as before, and then pour the flour mix over it. Top off with little sprinkles of butter.

Step 4: Cover and bake in a 350 degrees preheated oven for 45 minutes, then serve. Bon appetit!!
